First-time membership

Membership (including BCA insurance) is based on calendar years. You are welcome to join at any point throughout the year and you will be charged pro-rata (with the fee being reduced quarterly). We have a quick and easy online membership application system which will work this out automatically.

Completing this takes minutes - simply fill in the details and select a BCA insurance (choose standard if in doubt and we can explain this to you later). Please also provide a few details of your previous caving experience too. If you have any questions either see our frequently asked membership questions (below) or contact us.

Membership applications are by no means a final commitment. When you submit your electronic registration you’ll get an automated reply, however, we will send a more personal email over the next few days to establish communication. We will usually try to arrange a pub meet or chat by phone to discuss your prior experience to ensure that we are the right caving club for you before we finalise your membership and ask for any fees.

Renew your current membership

The quickest way to renew your membership is to sign into the website. From the 1st January, a reminder should appear, and clicking on this will take you to the membership application page, and will automatically populate the details. You’ll then receive an automatic email to provide details of how to pay, and once payment is received your membership will be returned to ‘full’.
