Hello and welcome to York Caving Club! We are a friendly caving club based in the City of York, only 90 minutes drive from the major caving areas of Ingleborough and Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales, the Peak District, and with the North Yorkshire Moors (our digging playground) on our doorstep! We are a relatively new club, founded in December 2008 by current and former members of the York University club. We aim to provide a means for experienced cavers (whether former student or not) to get involved with some exciting, sometimes more challenging, and always social and enjoyable trips, to both the UK’s classic caves, as well as some of those less well visited. We aim to provide the opportunity for any experienced caver to continue to pursue the sport, and also a means for those who have been previously or currently involved with a student club to continue caving after university. We also have local digging and surveying projects for anyone interested. Please take a moment to have a closer look around our website, in particular our trip reports and photos of some of our recent trips, and also our diary of planned trips for the remainder of the year. If you have any questions or are interested in joining, please see the FAQ section or contact us.
